How does one Cope with the Back to School Blues of a High school Student?

Most schools resume classes in the next few weeks.  It my area the big day is August 17th.  When I go to the mall or Target I see their faces.  Some are smiling and giggling, practically dragging Mom or Dad through the aisles as their eyes light up with reflections of back-to-school items.  These kids are typically under the age of 15.

Then you have the other kids in the stores.  Their faces are drawn in tight smiles (if smiling at all). Parents are the ones who are beaming, happily waiting for that special day in August when they have their days back to themselves.  These kids, as you can imagine, are part of the high school set.

Tips for Surviving the First Day of High School

What should I wear?  What if I don’t know anyone in my classes?  Who am I going to eat

lunch with?  What am I going to do if I forget my locker combination?  I remember thinking all of these things on my first day of high school, but somehow I got through that day and the next 4 years.  Sure it’s not easy, but it will be worth it and one day you’ll look back and wonder why you were ever so stressed out.
